What to Do Before You Go Live from Mobile
Add these items to your checklist before streaming on a mobile device.
Fully Charge Your Phone
Nothing's worse than having a good live stream rudely interrupted by a dying battery. Before going live make sure your phone is fully charged.
Avoid charging while streaming if possible, as it can , put strain on your phone's battery). Instead, keep a charger nearby so you can plug in your phone quickly if needed..
Close all open apps
Closing background apps helps your device run faster and reduces the risk of lag or crashes during your stream.
Turn off phone notifications.
Avoid interruptions from alerts or calls by enabling "Do Not Disturb" or a similar mode while streaming.
Review Community Guidelines
Violating platform rules can lead to account suspensions. Always review and follow the community guidelines for each platform before you go live.
How to Live Stream with the Streamlabs Mobile App for Android
In the walkthrough below, we'll navigate Streamlabs Mobile for Android.
Step 1: Download the Streamlabs Mobile app from the Google Play Store, depending on your device.
Step 2: Open the Streamlabs Mobile app and log in with your Streamlabs ID or preferred streaming platform.
For the best experience, use a Streamlabs ID, which gives you access to Streamlabs Desktop, Talk Studio, premium overlays, and more, all with one login.
Step 3: Once you're logged in, set up your Scenes. Tap the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines in the top left), then select Scenes from the menu.
Note: We'll walk through the remaining steps using this main menu.
In the Scenes menu, tap Create a New Scene and give it a name. You can start with a premade layout or build your own from scratch.

Add a screenshare Scenes when in edit mode. Click Add a Layer > Screenshare, then confirm that you want to share your screen.
Step 4: One standout feature of the Streamlabs Mobile app is multistreaming. With a Streamlabs Ultra subscription, you can go live on two or more platforms at once.
Go to the main menu and select Account Settings to connect the platforms you want to stream on. You can link:
- Twitch
- YouTube
- X
- TikTok
- Kick
- Trovo
Step 5: After setting up your layout and connecting platforms, customize your stream settings. If it's your first time using the app, we may prompt you to enable your camera and microphone.
If not, go to the main menu and select Streaming Settings to adjust:
- Video Settings: Output resolution, expected framerate, max bitrate
- Audio Settings: Camcorder, record stereo audio, invert stereo channels, Bluetooth audio input, and sample rate.
- Camera Settings: Switch between all cameras, enable orientation lock, mirror the front-facing preview, and utilize the per-camera API.
- Screen Capture Settings: Enable the draw on top feature
- Event List: Choose which events display on your stream
- Platform Settings: change settings such as ingest server, in-app chat, chat emotes, and more (by platform)
- Advanced Settings: User feedback popup, RTMP, and LAN settings.
- Privacy Settings: Anonymize analytics (enabled or disabled) or delete your account.
Step 6:After adjusting your streaming settings, you can add a theme to enhance your mobile live stream.
Tap Themes from the main menu to browse the library. Choose a theme you like (available for Ultra users or via app rewards). Then select the scene you want to apply it to.
Note: Selecting a theme may change your scene layout.
Once you're happy with it, hit Continue > Apply.
Step 7: Once your theme is applied, drag and resize any elements on your screen to your desired position and size or use layers to determine how these elements are arranged on screen.
When you're done click saved and repeat for landscape layout if prompted.
Step 8: Toggle on Disconnect Protection (available for Streamlabs Ultra users) to show a "Be Right Back" screen if your connection drops. This helps keep your viewers engaged while you reconnect.
Step 9: In the main menu tap Alerts to choose which recent events you want to display on stream.

Setting Up Your Mobile Stream

- Events List: Choose which events appear in the events list widget
- Twitch Settings: Ingest server, chat tags, emotes, and chat writing.
- Chat Settings: Chat height, chat font size (by platform), X/Twitter Chat mode.
- Advanced Settings: Adaptive bitrate, encoder compression mode, and user feedback popup
Step 6: After adjusting your stream settings, you can add a theme to enhance your mobile live stream.
Tap Themes from the main menu to browse the library. Choose a theme you like (available for Ultra users or via app rewards). Then select the scene you want to apply it to.
Note: Selecting a theme may change your scene layout.
Note: You can apply different themes to different scenes. Use the preview button to see how alerts appear on stream by tapping select Test. If everything looks good, click Continue and then Apply.
Step 7: Once your theme is applied, drag and resize any elements on your screen to your desired position and size. You can also use the layers option to determine how these elements are arranged with each other in your layout.
When you're done, click Save.
Note: We will prompt you to repeat this step for the landscape version of your stream.
Step 8: Toggle on Disconnect Protection (available for Streamlabs Ultra users) to show a "Be Right Back" screen if your connection drops. This helps keep your viewers engaged while you reconnect.
Step 9: You can choose between general alerts, such as tips and merch purchases, and platform-specific ones, like Twitch Bits and YouTube Superchats.
Going Live (Android and iOS)
Step 1: Before going live, tap the phone icon (top right of your screen) to select the scene you want your viewers to see. You can also switch between scenes when you're live.
Step 2: Once you've set up your stream, return to the main screen and tap Go Live.
Step 3: On iOS, choose whether to share your screen (e.g., when live streaming mobile gameplay) or your camera. On Android, you add screenshare via the Scenes feature.
Step 4: Select the platform(s) you want to stream to. If you're a Streamlabs Ultra member, you can multistream to multiple platforms at once. When you're ready, tap Next.
Step 5: Add a title and description, then adjust any final settings such as privacy settings, output, category, or a YouTube thumbnail. When you're done, tap Go Live.
